This is a great poem for saying out loud. Read it out loud with 5 or 6 of your friends and each time you say the second syllable in ‘Mosquito’ clap your hands. Mos-QUI(clap)-to. Practise until you are all keeping to the same rhythm and then share your performance with other people. This poem comes from the Caribbean.
Mosquito jump in de callaloo.
Mosquito fly out de ol’ man door.
Mosquito break up de ol’ man bricks.
Mosquito open de ol’ man gate.
Mosquito tickle de ol’ man hen.
