County contests

Your School or College Champion will progress to the next round of the competition in one of up to 50 towns or cities in England, to compete against other students for the title of County Champion.  At the county stage, students will be asked to recite one poem from the Poetry By Heart anthology that was published before 1914 and  one poem from the Poetry By Heart anthology published in or after 1914.  These may be the same poems prepared for the school or college competition, or different.

The county contests have mainly been grouped into ceremonial counties for the second stage of the competition. Take a look below to see which group your county is in.
